God speaks to us in many different ways. Some people hear Him through scripture, or in dreams, or in visions. I find He speaks to me most clearly through His creation. Through nature.
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:20
Here are three truths I saw this week.
Even surrounded by death, life stands out. Beauty is not made less by the ugly things that surround it, but rather it stands out even more. The life we have been given stands out in the midst of the death around us. People should see something different in us.
We can handle more than we thought we were capable of. Sometimes we feel crushed by a weight, yet when we examine the damage we find, somehow, that we are only bent and not broken. We can endure more than we thought when we are in Christ. We just need to know what is ahead of us will be good, according to the Lord’s plan. For the joy set before Him, Jesus endured the cross. Surely we can endure less than that.
Spring is fast approaching and yet, there are trees that are still holding on to their leaves. Their leaves that have long been dying and ready to fall. When it is time for new growth, where will the buds appear? By holding onto things we are meant to let go of, we are not ready to take hold of the new things the Lord has for us. There is a season for everything and growth is often preceded by emptiness, brokenness, and barrenness. But those things always prepare the way for life.
God’s divine nature can be seen in this earthly nature. If only we will open our eyes to see it.
